Play Therapy and Counseling for children through young adults
Soleil Counseling provides play therapy services for children ages 3 and up as well as counseling for teens and young adults up to the age of 25. We partner with parents and clients to create individualized goals to ensure that we stay on track during your care. Although we specialize in play therapy, we also use expressive activities including art, music, and sand tray to meet you and/or your child where you are at.
Counselors may use techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, trauma informed therapy, family systems, and attachment therapies based on what works best to help you reach your goals.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is an option for clients who wish to work through trauma, anxiety, or other mental health issues.
Our services are private pay only at this time. We can provide super bills for insurance upon request.

ABOUT KELLIE
I am a bilingual (Yo hablo español!) Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Play Therapist. I earned my Masters of Arts degree in Community Counseling from Argosy University. I have been a clinical therapist since 2013 and enjoy working with kids, teens, and their families on their journey towards growth and healing. I have experience working with trauma from abuse and neglect, foster and adoptive families, attachment issues, behavioral issues, problematic sexual behaviors in children, and family conflict. I use play therapy while working with children, as play is the language that best meets them at their developmental level. I work closely with caregivers, as caregivers need just as much support when kiddos are struggling!
While working with preteens and teens, I use a prescriptive approach. This means that I will meet with your child, evaluate their needs, and (with caregiver collaboration) create a treatment plan that will help meet your goals.
Are you an adult struggling with depression, anxiety, or life stress? You deserve to take care of your mental health too! I would be honored to walk alongside you as you tackle this thing called “life.”
In addition to counseling, I have presented to counselors, parents, administration and other professionals at Lewisville ISD, on the importance of play in the healing of trauma, the importance of play in children’s learning and development and the cognitive benefits of play: effects on the learning brain.
